Bronco Stadium, home of the Boise State University Broncos, was built in 1970 and has been the home of the football team since it was built. Bronco Stadium is located at 1400 Bronco Lane, Boise, ID 83725. The playing surface is an artificial surface and is one of the most memorable fields in the nation because of its blue color. Bronco Stadium plays host to the Humanitarian Bowl each January and the field again takes center stage. Boise State, one of the top teams in the WAC, has raised enough revenues from good play in recent years to increase the capacity at the stadium to 30,000. The 30,000 number might not seem like a huge number of people, but the WAC isn’t one of the BCS conferences and Boise State doesn’t quite have the tradition of a Nebraska or a Michigan, so the number is huge for the fans of the team. The project cost more than $9 million and will increase seats in the SW and SE corners of the stadium.
