Wagner Field is the home of the Kansas State Wildcats football team and is located on the campus of Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. The stadium was built in 1968 and can hold 50,300 people. Wagner Field cost $1.6 million to build and uses an artificial playing surface. 52,254 people filled Wagner Field on October 9, 1999, to set a single-game attendance record for an activity in the state of Kansas. Those fans were glad to watch their Wildcats take down the rival Jayhawks of the University of Kansas 50-9 to win the Governor’s Cup. The attendance records seemingly increase year after year as more fans find ways to get into Wagner Field and watch their Wildcats finish as one of the top teams in both the Big XII and the nation.
